NorSun AS
NorSun’s vision is to produce ’Mono Crystalline Silicone Wafers’ for the international solar energy market. The product which comprises thin plates of crystallized silicone wafers is the main component in the production of solar panels.
NorSun was established by Scatec in December 2005, today Scatec is the second largest owner of NorSun. NorSun is running a production facility in Årdal that was officially inaugurated in June 2008 by the Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, and is currently building a production plant for wafers in Singapore. Norsk Titanum AS
Norsk Titanium AS (NTi) has the vision to simplify the Titanium process chain from Ti ore to finished Ti components. The company has two separate subsidiaries:
• NTi Technology aims at developing and industrializing a cost effective and environmentally friendly method to produce titanium metal. Main process steps have been demonstrated and titanium powder has been produced.
Preparations for experimental scale-up is ongoing.
• NTi Components are commercializing a novel, proprietory method for 'near net shape' production of complex titanium components, primarily to the aerospace and oil & gas industries. the technology has proved that production cost of components for the aerospace industry is significantly lower that for the existing technology. NorWind Installer is a company dedicated to offshore windturbine foundation design, production and installation technologies. NorWind benefits from Norway's long-term experience from the oil & gas activities in the North Sea and is aiming to be a leading contractor for foundation installation services in the offshore wind industry. Thor Energy AS has evaluated the possibility of utilizing thorium fuel as a substitue for uranium in existing 3rd generation nuclear reactors. An irradiation project is being planned and will be initiated at the beginning of 2012.

n-Tec ASn-Tec has developed a method for the production of multi-walled nano-carbon tubes of high quality and is in the process of commercialising its production. In parallell, n-Tec is looking at different applications for the nano-tubes, like mechanical enforcement additives in polymers and ceramic materials.
