NorWind - pure dedication to offshore wind

NorWind installed OWEC Tower jackets at Alpha Ventus, of the coast of Germany

NorWind benefits from the long-term experience from the Norwegian oil & gas activities in the North Sea, both regarding design and construction of installations offshore, as well as for offshore logistics.

Of particular importance is NorWind's ownership in OWEC Tower which has developed a proprietary technology for the design of jacket structures for wind turbine foundations. This design is particularly well suited for water depths between 20 – 90 meters.  OWEC has recently won several important contracts for foundations where water depth is more than 20 meters. These projects include Alpha Ventus (Germany), Ormond (UK), and Thornton Bank (Belgium).

Furthermore, NorWind has ownership in the engineering company Technical Data (TD). TD is providing technical concepts and calculations related to jacket design and installations.

NorWind Installer aims to be a leading contractor for foundation installation services in the offshore wind industry. The company relies on state of the art methods, technology and services to install foundations, as well as highly specialized project management and engineering services for the foundation installation scope of work.

Jackets on their way

NorWind Installer was founded as a consequence of lessons learned by NorWind AS when the company’s unique installation concept was proven through the completion of the Alpha Ventus project in the German sector of the North Sea. This, six foundations, 30 MW, project 45 km offshore was the world’s first jacket installation based on pre-piling. NorWind Installer has entered into partnerships with established installation vessel owners and operators.
